Join us in Granada – A Walk and Talk Through the Legacy of Al-Andalus Discover Granada, where the legacy of Al-Andalus comes vividly to life. In this open group experience, we explore the rich tapestry of Granada’s history—from its origins and rise to its decline, and the global influences that continue to shape our world. We will be exploring the city’s growth through different suburbs we will also be discovering some of the most striking views of the Alhambra, set against the majestic Sierra Nevada, and experience the lively ambiance of San Nicolás Square, home to the “Mezquita Mayor de Granada.” Our journey begins with a historical overview of Al-Andalus, built on 15 years of touring and research by Al-Andalus Experience. We draw on insights from Granada’s renowned university and local specialists to trace the evolution of Granada as both a kingdom and a vibrant city. Our intensive tour leads along the top hills and through the heart of Granada. The enchanting Albaycín district reveals the origin and growth of this very singular and unique ‘Medina’, the medieval Moorish or Andalusi city of Granada. Through the cave-home neighbourhood of Sacromonte, ancient secrets and sacred stories await, taking us to end up downtown in the more modern area. We will be concluding by exploring the area surrounding the current Cathedral, and recreating the ancient Islamic town, a lively Silk Market, Madraza and wealthy medieval metropolis.
